No Block Day

Today was a No Block Day, so I guess that, since it is 9:32 pm, now it is a No Block Night.

I spent most of the day crocheting "treasures" to send in the next Traveling Scarf Swap that I am in. I also received two Traveling Scarf Swaps from the one I am in now. So I spent quite a lot of time reading the journals that accompanied them . . looking at the beginnings of the scarves enclosed.

One scarf is dedicated to the mother of the person who started it. She wants us to tell about our mom and include a picture. So it took a while today to find a picture I like. Most of the pictures with Mom in them (and dad too) I placed in a photo album for Lee when we got married. I figured it was time he kept the "family photo history" since he has the children to pass it on to.

I am still thinking about looking for another picture that I think is in Mom's cedar chest. It was taken on Mother's Weekend when I was a Freshman or Sophomore in College. I like the fact that we bot h look nice in the picture . . plus it is pone of the few pictures that I have of just Mom and I with me being an "adult." Well, almost, I guess, as I reflect back to that stage of my life.

So, I think I shall finish this posting, as always, with a prayer.

Dear Lord,
Thank you SO VERY MUCH for giving me MOM. As I grew older, we became almost two peas in a pod . .and this pea wanted to fight with that pea . . I think that was because you made me so much like her she always knew what I was about before I did.

I just wish, dear Lord, that You had not taken her from us in the way you did. I know you have reasons for doing what you do, and maybe when I finally meet you, You will tell me why she had to be in so much misery her final years. I didn't think then, nor do I think now, that she deserved it . . but You are wiser than me . . and I know You had a plan that I was not aware of.

Until I talk to you again . . .

Amen.
