Block 34

I have a saying . . . 

If,

by some unknown reason,

I am ever on death row. 

I know

what I will request

for my last meal:

steak (medium rare),
green tossed salad
with blue cheese dressing, 

baked potato (loaded),

mashed potatoes,

french fries,

potato chips (no funky flavors need apply),

 potato sticks

and raw, 

washed 

baking potatoes.

Do I like potatoes?
Need you ask?

Well, the meat and salad
are only there so I can call it a meal.
NO WAY
would I waste my last meal on them
when all those potatoes
are available. 

Let's put it this way:

One Christmas my parents,

brother and I

went Christmas shopping.

Dad took me to buy for Mom

Mom to Lee to buy for Dad

and we were to meet up 

at the Gourmet Cafeteria

for supper when done,

I don't remember this,

but Mom says 

she was so embarrasses . . .

here I come, carrying my tray

with both french fries

and mashed potatoes.

Dad said, "Well, she wanted both."

She didn't remember

what else I had,

but she remembered I

ate everything. 

So, 

I have been 

a potato lover 

for as long 

as anyone can remember

BUT . . . 

do not,

and I reply

DO NOT

try to pass off

potato pancakes

as potatoes.

Potato pancakes

is a sneaky way

to get people to eat

thickened

wall paper paste.

Y-U-C-K . . . A . .. M-U-N-D-O ! ! ! !

No self respecting potato

would ever give their life

to become a pancake!

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the great state of Idaho and their lowly little potatoes. They are a definite blessing for my taste buds.
