T-????? and Counting

I started my running stitch borders for my 1" x 1" squares this evening. I wanted to go over and under every other stitch, but I couldn't get the rhythm going for that. So I ended up going over two squares and under two squares . . that means I have 14 stitches per side of 1" x 1" squares . . . + / -. Every once in a while I will go over or under 3 and I just let it go . .basically because I didn't catch it in time. Now the over 1 stitches stick out like sore thumbs, so those have been fixed . . at least I think they have. If not, I am fine with that.

For  those of you who don't know, I use a thought process that I learned during my 1st teaching experience. I was teaching Social Studies, Cultures of the World. In the unit on Islam, there was an article on the weavers of Persian carpets. They say that there must ALWAYS be a mistake in a Persian rug  because "Only God can make perfection."

I always use that idea. Since only God can make perfection, I strive to do my best. If my best isn't perfect, it doesn't ruin my project, let alone my day. It is just part of life . . . my life of creating.

Signed,
I am Not Perfect, But I Strive To Do My Best

Hi Paula! Very interesting about the weavers of Persian carpets!.. I am still working on the outlines of my squares; but am thinking, I might at least fill one, two or three with some blessings soon!! The weekend has just been too gorgeous to stay cooped up in the house! Hope you're enjoying this beautiful weekend too! ~tina
