Step 1 . . May take Several Days to Complete

Saturday night I sat for about three hours
and made 1" x 1" squares
on 28 count Monaco cloth,
Antique White,
by Charles Craft.

It was tedious,
but with the help of Mag Eyes,
it went a lot smoother than I thought.

I decided
the variegated blue (DMC 4235)
would be my dividing color for the boxes.

I like the fact that the lines are different colors,
at times,
the boxes just seem to blend into each other
and then again,
there are places where the darker blue makes a division statement.

The variegation reminds me of old, faded denim jeans . . .
one of my favorite looks.
I think this will give my Blessings Sampler
a lived in,
worn look.

This picture below shows how the gradiation looks.

Now, I did want to start my Tree of Life today,
but instead I am going to finish my squares first.

My Mind's Eye has a picture of where this tree should fit.
I want the squares done so I can better visualize the position before I start graphing the tree.

I have looked all over the Internet
for a pattern that I like,
and,
of course,
I can't find the one I want.

Why, Oh Why,
did I get rid of all my cross stitch books when I was in Logan.

I know why . .
my eyes were so bad I never thought I would be able to cross stitch again.

Signed,
Oh Well, Life Does Go On
