Block 59

Jeans . . .
good,
old-fashioned
faded blue jeans.
Comfort personified!

I can not think
of a more comfortable
pair of pants
than my jeans!

I can't remember
wearing them in
high school
but in college,
 they were
part of my
uniform
for 4 years
and have remained
to this day.

That was probably
the one thing
I disliked
about teaching . . .
having to get
dressed everyday.
I was never one
for "dressing" up
and now,
I had to do it
everyday of school.

Was I ever happy
when the idea of
"dress down" Fridays
became popular . . .
jeans, here I come!

A good friend of mine
once told me
I had a "jeans" body.
I had to agree.
Must have been
the shape of my legs.
They sure weren't
skinny,
nor were they muscled.
They were
just right
to fit in jeans.

Even today,
8,000,000 pounds
heavier than ever
the body still looks
better in jeans
than anything else.

Man,
how I hate it
now when I have to
dress up!
I usually try
to sneak a jeans jumper
in as my outfit.
But,
have a wedding
to go to on August 29 . . .
have to dress
like an adult.

What a bummer!

Dear Lord,
Thank you for the California Gold Rush. Thank you for Levi Strauss. Thank you for having him invent jeans for the gold miners  so they had pants that were as rugged as they were.
Amen.

Would you believe I have decided not to apply for a job because I couldn't wear jeans? I'm a wash and wear kinda girl. Jeans all the way!
