Block 58

Shoes,
more specifically
Bass/Weejun Penny Loafers
Clogs
or Crocs.

I think I wore
Bass/Weejun Penny Loafers
all 34 years
I taught school.
Not the same pair,
granted,
but these were
the only shoes
I could put on
brand new and wear
from Day 1.
And the BEST part is,
they lasted until Day 180!
One pair of shoes
for an entire school year.

Then,
the next fall,
retire those shoes
to wear with jeans
and buy a new pair
for school.

Normally,
I would have at least
1 pair of Clogs
for those days
when the feet
wanted to go bare.
Just slip off the Clogs
when the feet
needed air.

Now,
I've replaced the Clogs
with Crocs . . .
not as heavy
and just as easy
to slip on and off.

There have only been
two items
I have not been able
to find
since we moved
in 2006:
1. the silver box with family pix
and
2. my last pair of Penny Loafers.
Except for
Bass Outlet Stores,
I haven't been able
to find my favorite shoes.
I know the outlets
HAVE to be seconds . . .
they are
SO UNCOMFORTABLE,
they don't feel like
the ones I wore for
34 years :0{

So,
I keep looking
for shoes to wear
with my jeans jumpers
when I MUST dress . . .
I have not been lucky.
Instead of the
Penny Loafers
with the  jumpers,
thank heavens
I still have one pair
of Clogs that fit :0}

Dear Lord,
Thank you for Penny Loafers and Clogs. You know how I HATE go wear shoes but must when I worked. So I was lucky enough to have found the loafers in high school, found out they were pretty comfy and have worn them ever since.

The Clogs came in college, when they 1st came into style. Now THEY were COMFORTABLE! Just slip the bare feet into them when needed and slip them off as soon as I got to where I was going.  They were definitely the next best thing to bare feet . . . and I should know . . . 59 years of not liking to wear shoes  proves I know what bare feet feel like.

And now, Crocs! I can slip them on in any weather and not have to worry about hem getting wet or the rain/snow spotting the leather. Thank You for having them made out of rubber . . . what a great idea!

Amen

Have you tried LL Beans clogs? My MIL swears by them and I have had a few pairs. That's where she got her first 2 pair - she swiped them from me. ;0)

Since I also hate to wear shoes 99% of the time (Oddly I actually like to wear 4" heels once in a while - as long as they aren't pointy toed or tight), I really should check out the Crocs. Most clogs I have found are hard and uncomfortable. Simple loafers are best for me.

I only just now noticed that snow is falling on this page!!
